Anne Elibol's profile

  • Norfolk Watercolour Circle The Circle was formed in Norwich in 1961 as an experimental group under the leadership of Katherine Nix-James, a widely travelled painter whose works have been exhibited in many parts of the world. The object was to revive interest in watercolour painting in this area by members meeting together to help each other with exchanges of ideas and discussion of work. The objectives today have remained basically the same: 'to bring together all those who are interested in promoting the Fine Art of Watercolour, by way of exhibitions, talks, demonstrations and constructive criticism. Other mediums such as pencils, inks, line & wash, chinese white, chalks, pastels and gouache may be used in conjunction with watercolour in their own right'. The Norfolk Watercolour Circle has a membership of Full Members and Associate Members, who may, after submitting satisfactory work become a Full Member. We meet in Norwich at the Friends Meeting Rooms, Upper Goat Lane, at 2.00pm on the first Saturday of every month, except January and August, and we have an Annual Exhibition, all members are permitted to submit work. Each month a task is suggested for the next meeting, which is then voted on by the members and followed by critique.
