If I want a dense white acrylic should I use titanium or zinc white?;
Thank you for your enquiry.
There is information about the different white paint you will find in paints:
Titanium White is the whitest and most opaque of the whites and is recommended for general use.
Mixing White is a more transparent white with reducing tinting strength, making it ideal for strong tints, glazing, and toning down colours.
Iridescent white captures the unique effect of "light interference" and can be mixed with or painted over colours to create interesting pearlized effects.
Permanent White is the whitest and most opaque white. It can reduce the lightfastness of some colours.
Zinc White – cleanest and most lightfast tints. Good for colour mixing
Schmincke claim that their Titanium white is unparalleled and unrivalled for its high pigmentation and covering power.
An artist quality paint will give you improved covering power than a student quality as are there is a higher pigment to binder ratio in an artist quality paint.
