Exploring watercolour techniques depicting autumn skies over a landscape of changing colours.
Watercolour day workshop exploring colour mixing and use of brushes to create different effects. Meet up for coffee/tea at 10.00 am. Move into the studio at 10.30. Light lunch supplied 1.00 - 2.00 pm. Afternoon session finishes from 4.30 to 5.30 depending on progress and personal preference. I like to work on Arches hot pressed paper. I stretch this on boards. I use a range of synthetic brushes favouring riggers for detail and broad flat wash brushes up to 4 cms. in width. I use Winsor & Newton water colour in tubes. Tints I favour are cobalt blue, permanent rose, permanent magenta, cadmium yellow, cadmium lemon and burnt sienna. Mixing can achieve any shade from this base. We paint 2 pictures in the course of the day and I'm happy to take complete beginners and all abilities beyond. It's always fun to experiment with new approaches to the wonderful medium of watercolour! 4 students per day maximum. Leaflet with full details on application.
