  • Description
Two workshops of four days during a month.

    1. A foundation to pastels. Pastels ? A course of 4 weekly workshops. Wednesdays - 10.00 a.m. ? 3.00 p.m. Materials supplied at £10.00 ? Pastels, paper, tools.
Students will require their own set of watercolours, palettes and brushes for the first lesson and just brushes for the last in this series. A simple wash brush or mop and one small round will suffice. If the student has acrylic inks for the first painting, then even better! I cannot cover this expense additionally.
    About the Workshop:
A foundation and introduction to four completely different approaches to using soft pastels. Ideal for students of any ability to, either, gain a good foundation or expand their knowledge and skills.
Designed to help you gain confidence and enjoy this medium by approaching it in both the traditional and more unusual ways. We will also be painting four completely different scenes as part of this workshop series (see below). By request from the last class I have chosen flowers, still life, people and birds/animal.

    2. A foundation to painting in acrylics. An introduction to Acrylics ? A course of 4 weekly workshops. Tuesdays ? 9.30 p.m ? 2.30 p.m. Materials supplied at £10.00. are the paints, colour photographs and a primed surface to paint upon.

You will require your own brushes for this course and they are the same for all four parts. Long or short handles according to your taste. I suggest all medium/soft density nylon acrylic brushes ? two rounds of No. 2 and No. 4, a filbert of No. 6. and a ?? inch flat. Also a fine rigger brush. You will need a small sponge roller, I can supply those at £1.50 each, and a selection of a few textural sea sponges would be useful.
