  • Description
    Celebrate the beauty of summer flowers in the medium of your choice.
    Suitable for all abilities. Basic drawing and painting skills will be beneficial.
    Course objectives: To create one or more paintings of summer flowers.
    Materials: Images and both artificial and fresh flowers will be available but please bring your own if you prefer. A sketch pad or paper for practising and trying out compositions. Several sheets of paper/board/canvas appropriate to your chosen medium. Paints, brushes, palette etc. kitchen roll. Hot, cold drinks and snacks will be available to purchase from the College Star Cafe
    Area of study: How to plan and compose your painting. How to draw flowers. Using brushstrokes to create petal and leaf shapes. Mixing colours for flowers and foliage. Painting appropriate shadows. Enhancing detail. Integrating the background.
