Morocco - Colours of the Bazaar

Tuition FROM: Friday, 7 November 2014 TO: Friday, 14 November 2014

Tuition Type: Painting Holiday

  • Description
A winter shortening trip full of colour and spice with tutor, Karen Pearson
The colours of Morocco are intense and wonderfully contrasting. Blues, turquoises, blacks and golds are set against rich earthen reds, stone creams and sunset oranges.
We spend our first night in vibrant Marrakech before travelling to the 18th Century Atlantic town of Essaouira, which is known for the fishing port full of blue boats and labyrinthine medina.
There will be blue shadows on white houses and the citrus fruits will be decorating the trees. People walk elegantly and sit in their flowing robes.
The architecture is often simple yet highly decorated so we can play with shape, texture and surface in layers of paint and colour. The streets are very bustling and we will try to capture the movement, mood and vibrancy of the places we visit.
We end the week returning to Marrakech, spending time painting at the tranquil ?Jardin Majorelle? and exploring and sketching the souks.
For those who wish to shop there will be opportunities to find treasures for some exotic parcels beneath the Christmas tree!
