can you apply aqua bronze on top of dry acrylic paint on canvas
Thank you for your enquiry, I can confirm that the Aqua Bronzes contain real bronze or aluminium, they're extremely light fast and more brilliant than other metallic effect colours made of pearl lustre pigments.
The Aqua Bronzes are a fine dry powder which can be dropped on to wet watercolour paint.
Simply sprinkle a small amount on to wet paint and watch the pigments dance on the surface of the paint. As this is a powder you can also sprinkle on wet acrylics and oils. On the bottle it suggests mixing with a little water to create a wet mix. This is fine, but I find that when dry the pigment can dust off as the water is not adhesive when applied to a dry surface. The powder does stick to a wet paint as the paint has enough adhesive properties.
A tip when using with watercolour is to mix with Gum Arabic. This not only ensure that the bronze mix will stick to the wet surface but also adds an extra gloss. As the Aqua Bronzes are a powder there is no reason you could not mix other binders for other mediums.
