Anne Marie Brody

Forest Row, East Sussex

I attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia as my father was working for the United Nations in New York. I returned to England and lived and worked in the East End of London for ten years. I got married in 1990 and we moved to Forest Row. After working in offices for 15 years I went to Eastbourne College (now South Downs) where I met inspiring teachers, especially Susie Monnington who now runs the Dairy Studios in Lewes. After leaving the college in 2001 I founded a group called Art22 with my fellow students at South Downs. We are still meeting once a month and have had many successful exhibitions throughout the South East. I completed a PTLLS qualification to teach adults at South Downs College in Lewes in March 2011. From September 2010 until July 2014 I was the tutor for the Felbridge Watercolour Group. I art have also taught Drawing and Watercolour at the Ashdown Gallery in Forest Row, East Sussex. In 2011 I began teaching at Central Sussex College (Adult Education Centre in East Grinstead) until they closed the local centre. For a few years I did demonstrations and workshops at local art groups until my husband became ill and I had to stop.
I now teach a class in the local community.
