I'm a self taught Liverpool artist. As a Self Employed Artist and Tutor, I give Art Demonstrations and Workshops at local art groups and societies around a 50 mile radius centred around Liverpool and Manchester and am a Volunteer Artist at local schools and Liverpool (Walton) Prison. My preferred medium is Acrylic. ; My painting, Just another day, a study of a Mersey Ferry was nominated Highly Commended in the 2011 SAA Artist of the Year Competition; out of over 6,200 submissions, just 59 paintings were recognised for such certificated awards.I've produced a series of paintings, both Watercolour and Acrylic, to raise funds for Bletchley Park (WW11 Code Breaking Centre), and prints of these are on sale at BP, all proceeds being donated to the Bletchley Park Trust. Several of my paintings at Bletchley Park have been made into First Class Stamps, and First Day Covers, and to celebrate the Alan Turing Centenary, 2012, three of my paintings; The Turing Bombe Room, Turing's Cottage at Bletchley Park, both of which are Watercolours, and an Acrylic on Canvas depicting a composite of the Colossus code breaking machine of Bletchley Park, have been used as Limited Edition First Day Covers. I'm very proud that two of my paintings; an Acrylic of The Colossus Machine and a Watercolour of Turing's Bombe Room were auctioned at an ACCU (computer programmers) Conference in 2011, and raised £
£1,200 for Bletchley Park. I am a Regional Society Coordinator and Professional Associate for the SAA, and In addition, I had a regular column in Paint, the SAA's Magazine; under the title; Ask our Expert, in which I answer art related questions submitted by members.
