I have taken up my artwork seriously since Feb 02. I joined the SAA in 2003 and am very pleased to be a member. I left my factory job in September 04 to concentrate on my art and teaching career. I am 51, married and have four children. I live in a village called Boughton near Newark, Notts. I am primarily a watercolourist but have recently created what I regard as my best works in oils. My work is usually colourful and dramatic, but I'm still developing my style. I have experimented with different mediums including pyrography, (burning images onto wood) and especially working with kiln fused glass and glass blowing. I have also enjoyed mixing some of my painted images with photoshop software, producing interesting and sharp images for my illustration work. I graduated from Lincoln University with a 2:1 BA (hons) degree in Illustration in Sept 08. I graduated from Nottingham Trent University acquiring a PGCE in secondary education (M level)in 2009. I am currently teaching in Lincoln as a teacher of design and technology. I teach art evening classes to adults at the Dukeries Community College. I have lead workshops for junior after school clubs, learning difficulty groups and occasionally get asked to carry out demonstrations for other artist societies. I have also worked as an art tutor in Prison. Your comments and opinions of my work would be very much appreciated. You can contact me by; tel 0756 1431 404 e-mail [email protected]
