Do these paints need to be cured to make them permanent on something like a drinking glass and able to be washed?
Thank you for your enquiry.
The Pebeo Vitrail Glass paints are solvent based paints which need to cure for
They are tough dry after 2hrs and fully dried after 10 hrs (depending on thickness of application and temperature and Humidity of room).
They can be thinner with Odourless Mineral spirit or White spirit
The Pebeo Vitrail Glass paints should not be baked to cure. Once dry they become hard and enamel like and are resistant to hand washing in cold water without soaking and to window cleaners.
It is recommended by the supplier that these paints should only be applied to surfaces not intended for food contact.
I’m wondering if these paints are water based...if not can anyone suggest appropriate brushes and cleaner.
Thank you for the enquiry, I can confirm that the Pebeo Vitrail paints are a solvent based glass paint which can be used on its own to create transparent stained-glass effects of add to your creativity by combining with the Pebeo Fantasy paints and watch the paint organically merge and add even more interesting effects.
I usually use lollipop stick or cocktail sticks as I find that brushes can be difficult to clean. You will need solvents to clean the paint off the brushes and clean immediately after use. If using brushes us inexpensive ones.
With the lollipop stick you can push and manoeuvre the paint across the surface and for finer detail use the fine cocktail sticks.
Hope this information helps
