The Drawing Gum marker is gum for precisely masking the parts required in the works before painting or colouring.

The pen is single solution which replaces the drawing gum bottle, paint brush and water container in your kit. This tool is very practical due to its easy handling and small size, which only requires you to choose a surface.

Drawing Gum is a peelable solution used to keep areas of artwork free, for use with ink,
watercolour, diluted gouache and more.

It can be used on paper, cardboard, Bristol board, acetate, wood and other surfaces. Apply colour when the drawing gum is dry.

Once the colours are completely dry just rub the gum with your finger or with an eraser to reveal the masked parts.

Question:

Hello. I have bought both 0.7 & 4 mm pens. Do I need to fill them with the masking fluid first? Non of them is working. If I need to fill them, how should I do that as I can not open them. Thanks

    Hi Shirin,

Both of these pens are prefilled with masking fluid. The 0.7 is a latex solution and the 4mm is a non-latex, synthetic version.

You need to activate these pens by shaking gently and then depressing or pumping the nib until the masking fluid runs down into the nib. The 0.7 is a very pale blue and can be sometimes be difficult to see when applied to the paper. It does dry darker, so it can be seen when you apply colour.

    I hope this helps.
