Coronavirus Update

Coronavirus Update

As you will be well aware, these are tough times for event organisers. The social limitations surrounding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak dictate that large scale events are no longer possible or safe, and given the severity of the situation, it looks like these restrictions may be in place into the summer.

Therefore, following instructions from HM Government and the advice from the WHO regarding large gatherings and social distancing, it’s necessary we inform you that all SAA events, workshops and supported exhibitions have had to be postponed. We are very sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment this will cause, but the safety of visitors, artists and event staff is paramount, so we feel this is the best course of action.

SAA HQ Live Workshops

Our schedule of weekly live workshops at SAA HQ have been postponed until July, and any ticket holders for affected workshops have been contacted to arrange either an alternative date, or a refund. At the moment, we are planning to reinstate the workshops from July 5th, but this will depend on advice from the government regarding group gatherings and social distancing.

If the current restrictions are still in place and in July, we will arrange alternative dates as soon as possible. In the meantime, you can visit the SAA Video On Demand hub ( and catch up with past workshops and other inspirational tutorials and demonstrations.

SAA & Supported Live Events

Sadly, the restrictions also affect the much anticipated SAA Live events, however we are working hard to reschedule for later in the year. This includes:

• SAA Live Event, Leicester 5th June
• SAA Live Event, Epsom 18th June

Any tickets already purchased will be automatically transferred to the new, rescheduled dates which we will publish as soon as they are confirmed. The artists and venues will remain the same, and we will contact all ticket holders directly to confirm they are able to attend, or arrange a refund if not. Please bear with us during this process, as we will be somewhat confined to waiting until the social distancing policies have been lifted before we are able to confirm rescheduling details in full.

International Watercolour Masters

The Coronavirus outbreak dictates that the SAA supported exhibition International Watercolour Masters 2020 has also had to postponed, however new dates for this are now confirmed for next year: 4th – 16th May 2021. The benefit of being moved to 2021 is that there are now more artists, more days and even more inspiration than before! Go to for full details of the 2021 exhibition and to buy your tickets.
