The 20th of March marks the closing date of Sky's 'Landscape Artist of the Year' competition. With a huge £10,000 commission being offered as first prize, this is only the beginning of what this years competition has to offer. With the term 'landscape' covering anything from City-Scapes to Country Side, Marketplaces to Council Estates, any artist aged 16+ has a chance to make every dream come true.
Sky's 2014 'Portrait Artist of the Year' winner Christian Hook went on to receive amazing celebrity commissions, a three part TV series, and saw the value of his paintings increase by threefold. He also had his winning paintings hung at prestigious locations, such as the National Portrait Gallery, The Scottish National Portrait Gallery, The Royal Shakespeare Company, The Royal Ballet, The Royal College of Music and many more.
Many artists who took part in the portrait series saw a large rise in commissions, as well as being able to enjoy a truly fun experience. Participants will meet other artists and learn different techniques and ways of working to become a well rounded and versatile artist.
