2018 is the Chinese Year of the Dog, so we've set you a canine challenge for the next 12 months! We look forward to seeing you put your artistic skills to the test, getting to grips with fur, paws, wet noses and waggy tails!
One of the most important factors is the pose. You need to make sure that you’re painting your dog from the best position, and to do that it’s helpful to take a lot of photos from different angles. A plain background can make it easier to see all of the animal’s features.
Light is also important: a good light source will give definition and separate areas of light and shadow. A good light source will emphasise the variation in fur colour and texture.
