One of the wonderful things about art and creativity is that it can reach beyond the more conventional methods of communication and bring people of all ages together. A really lovely story was recently shared with us about how one family is doing just that - across four generations!

Gordon Yarwood (85) has four great grandchildren, Oliver (5), Elsie (1), Jack (2) and Eliza (1). They are his pride and joy, but given that he lives in a care home, doesn't get to see them as much as he would like. However, thanks to a creative idea by his daughter, Margaret, Gordon is now reminded of them at all 'times' of the day… Margaret was inspired by our new SAA clocks, and had the brilliant idea of getting the four children to each paint a quarter of the clock, so Great Grandad Gordon would think of them every time he glanced at it.

The result, as you can see, is fantastic, and gives Gordon a lovely reminder of those four little creative people that he loves so much.

Like the idea? Why not try it yourself and share some inter-generational art with your friends and family! You can have a look at our clocks here.

If you've got a story to share with us about how art has impacted your life, or the lives of those around you, we'd love to hear it… Send us your pictures and story to [email protected]. Happy painting!
