Black Labrador in Coloured Pencils - 1 Day Art Workshop (UK)

Tuition FROM: Saturday, 11 August 2018 TO: Sunday, 12 August 2018

Tuition Type: Workshops

  • Description
Black fur can be such a challenge to get right and having been asked numerous times in the past how best to create it correctly, I thought our Black Labrador Haze, would be the best subject for this Coloured pencil Workshop as he is so photogenic. For best effect, we will be working on a smooth, light grey paper which really does help you achieve the best outcome. At this Workshop you will be taught the layering process I use in my own work and which colours to use at each stage and is open to anyone looking to create highly detailed art in Coloured pencils from complete beginners to those wishing to take their pencil work to the next step.

As with all my workshops, I begin by running through a 'Do's & Dont's Checklist to offer pointers during your creation and ensure you get the best out of the medium, this is followed with the first demonstration of which there are between 5 and 6 - each demo is a step by step guide on how to apply and layer your pencils and which colours to use to create the black fur effect. Tutoring on the day will be shown on the left side of the face only, as this allows you to create your own portrait at a slower pace should you prefer, however if you work quickly, you may prefer to complete the right side also before the next demonstration begins using the same techniques.
After each demo, you are encouraged to work at your own pace, and you will receive a Workshop booklet that can be used as a guide during the Workshop which you can also take home with you so you can finish your project and use it as reference for future projects should you wish.
1 to 1 guidance is always available between each Demo or you can use the booklet as your guide if you prefer to work alone. There is no pressure for you to rush your portrait, simply go at your own pace. These Workshops are open to anyone regardless of your Artistic abilities, even if you have never drawn anything since your days at school!

A day guaranteed to offer lots of helpful advice that helps you achieve a highly detailed piece of Art with techniques learned to use in future pencil portraits.
