The perfect set to get you started, 7 x 80ml tubes of Atelier Interactive Artists' Acrylic in Burnt Umber, Titanium White, Pthalo Green, Arylamide Yellow Light, Cobalt Blue Hue, Napthol Red Light and Crimson.

Atelier Interactive Artists' Acrylic dries without a plastic skin, unlike conventional acrylics, giving the artist a window of opportunity in which to rehydrate the paint for a limited time. Interactive is thick and buttery allowing you to apply thick impasto techniques or it can be diluted to create vibrant washes and glazes. Interactive is so unique it's been awarded its own patent.

Question:

Can you mix atelier acrylic paint with liquatex gloss medium varnish. Also if I use the liquatex medium does it count as glossed or do I have to gloss as well

    Thank you for your enquiry.

You can mix the Atelier interactive acrylic with traditional water based acrylic paints and mediums, but the Interactive acrylics will lose their interactive characteristics.

Liquitex Gloss Medium & Varnish can be used as an acrylic medium and mixed with the acrylic paint to increases flow, transparency and gloss.

It can be also used as a non-removeable varnish to protect the surface and establish a gloss sheen.

Question:

Do any Acrylic paints blend like oil paints?

Answers:

  • Posted by Anita Pounder on Thursday, 31 May 2018

    Good Afternoon,

Atelier Interactive acrylics are an acrylic paint which can be kept wet for longer, allowing for blending and alteration.

The paint will become touch dry at the same rate as traditional acrylics, but you are able to keep them activated and bendable or reactivate with water. Once the water no longer rewets the paint you then can use the unlocking medium for longer blending times.
