A real talent, I can hear the sea, feel the watery sand, the disturbed sand, the messy hands, the bent over body, wonderful bucket and light direction plus a lot more. A wonderful composition we can all relate to. Well done.

I had to look at this several times. My grandaughter on the beach in Wales, I thought. My photo of her is so like Richard's wonderful image

Once upon a time, I remember being so engrossed in the way the sand moved when you added a little water or lifted it out of the base sand. A memory of sunny childhood innocent days. Ahhh...

I hope this now grown up little girl sees her portrait and loves it as much as we do, Richard.

Thanks, Jean. Much appreciated. I am not a local but visit Cornwall every year, usually in August. I took the photo of this little girl many years ago before it became taboo to photograph children. I enjoyed looking through your gallery. Good work!

I live in Cornwall. You have captured that special Cornish light perfectly. Were you on holiday or are you local? Jean

If i could paint a beautiful picture like this i would be more than happy. Adult and children portraits especially body shapes are not easy to paint but i am determined to create something as beautiful as this........ one day!!!
