A weekend of bird watching, sketching and painting from England?s oldest Inn!
Your tutors will be Noel Garner, Director of Cambridge Art Academy, and David Chandler whose books include "Barn Owl", the "RSPB Children?s Guide to Bird Watching", and "100 Birds to See in your Lifetime". David is a contributor to Bird Watching magazine.
Friday 11th
5:00 pm onwards, arrive.
7:00pm Welcome and introduction.
7:30 pm Meal together in the restaurant.
Saturday 12th
Pre-breakfast: Bird watching with David (optional).
Breakfast
9:00 am. Meet in Conference room.
9:15 am approx. Bird watchers will leave for Little Paxton Nature Reserve. Artists will receive tuition until 12 noon, and then meet up with bird watchers for lunch.
2:00 pm. Wicken Fen Nature Reserve (the country?s oldest nature reserve, and one of the National Trust?s finest) for bird watching and sketching.
5:00 pm Return to the Old Ferry Boat
6:45 pm. Meal at The Cock, Hemingford Grey.
9:30 pm. For those interested, return to Little Paxton, famous for its Nightingales.
Sunday 13th
Breakfast
9:00 am. (Flexible for painters if they would like more tuition) RSPB?s Fen Drayton Lakes Nature Reserve. Choice of a different location if painters prefer (nearby Fen Drayton village)
1:00 pm Packed lunch and official end of weekend. |
