Geoff Kersey is one of the SAA's most popular authors and his instructional guides have helped many a beginner to develop their confidence and master their materials.

Although this is not a how-to guide, it showcases Geoff's work and provides a wealth of inspiration that's guaranteed to have you reaching for your brushes as soon as you open it.

The Peak District is a popular area for tourism and Geoff has found not only the famous views and grand vistas, but also the smaller corners that only the locals know. He also adds some fascinating details in the captions that accompany each image.

If you admire Geoff's work as a teacher, you'll find it rewarding and inspiring to see what he can do 'for real'. He paints in a variety of seasons, weather and locations and there's also a great deal you can learn just from seeing how he approaches his subjects on this wonderful journey through a magical part of the country.

In the accompanying DVD, sit back and join Geoff as he takes you on a personal guided tour through some of the stunning scenes featured in the book - sketching key components as he goes, before adding the final finishing touches in his studio to complete a watercolour that captures the true beauty of the Peak District.

One of the first Dvd's I have found that show an artist gather's information and sketches on location... The book is beautiful. (Posted on 10/04/2013)

  4. "The Peak District in Watercolour" by Geoff Kersey Review by Jim Perkins

This is a really good addition to my collection of Geoff Kersey art books and dvds. I like his style and this book provides lots of his art work to have a go at painting but there is no tuition just inspiration. Try his other books first such as "Trees, Woodlands & Forests" or "Mediterranean Landscapes". (Posted on 08/04/2013)

  5. This is a real look into Geoff working and seeking out great locations. Review by Anne Carruthers

I am both delighted with the book and the DVD which helps in tips and great ways to choose locations. Living in New Zealand I will now venture out to find special places to sketch, photograph and paint once home. (Posted on 08/04/2013)

  8. A Walk Through the Peak District. Review by Eileen Hardisty

Geoff is one of my favourite SAA artists, and this is such a change from his usual instruction books and DVDs, but such a delight to read, watch the DVD and to own.
It is wonderful to see such a large collection of his painting to inspire me for years to come and try to emulate. (Posted on 08/04/2013)

  9. Geoffs Peaked Again Review by F Davenport

Reading Geoff's book, it is obvious he has a real feel for the nature around him. But more importantly, he has that happy knack of putting his instruction across in such simple and easy to understand terms,I never tire of looking and listening to this nice man. (Posted on 08/04/2013)
