This varied and attractive book will show you how to both draw and paint people in a wide variety of media.

Each section contains a full guide to materials and techniques that includes full instruction on the use of colour the create realistic skin tones. There are also plenty of step-by-step demonstrations that feature a wide variety of different subjects, male and female as well as different ages, colourings, settings and poses.

This is as comprehensive as you could wish and the four authors bring different approaches that nicely complement each other and provide a wealth of ideas for you to try out.

The book is full of illustrations and examples and is as inspiring as it is instructive. If you've ever wanted to paint people, but have been put off by not knowing where or how to start, this is the best introduction you could have.

An very interesting book, touching on all mediums. Discussions around colour choices, preparation of surfaces and various techniques that the individual artists used. I felt that all the contributors to the book gave excellent explanations and it was encouraging to a beginner in where and how to begin (Posted on 08/04/2013)
