Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan

I have worked in the Graphic and Printing industry for over 40 years, so when I retired from that business in 2008 I moved into the Art world which was a natural progression for me. I have had a lifelong love of Art and Photography which can be seen in the style of paintings I produce. Drawing and painting have been such a large part of my life that in 2010 I decided to start an Art class in my beloved home town of Penarth to encourage others to embrace the benefits of taking up Art as a hobby and as a relaxation therapy. This class has proved very beneficial not only to my students who attend my classes but to my own work as well in pushing me to look at other areas such as subject matter, techniques, styles and various mediums. My preferred medium is watercolour but I also enjoy working with acrylics, oils, pastel, charcoal, and pencil along with anything that can make a "mark".I hope in the near future to offer painting breaks which will specialise painting and printing from your own artwork using digital technology which is available to the amateur market.I am a founder member of the "Penarth Group" an artist cooperative based in my home town. I was lucky to be a contestant on Channel 5's new series of Watercolour Challenge hosted by Fern Britton. A rewarding event which really did 'challenge' all of us taking part!
