This book and DVD set is a must have for artists who struggle to paint people!

Once you have begun putting figures into a painting, you won't be able to stop. Marilyn explains that figures are just blobs of light and dark and that with just a few simple brush strokes you can create a crowd of recognisable people.

The book has a variety of vibrant and colourful projects to choose from, each with step-by-step illustrations to help fire the imagination. Learn how to highlight the movement and energy of the scene and use colour and tone to your advantage.

With easy to follow instructions, the DVD shows Marilyn demonstrate how to create a simple composition, with the clever use of light and dark shadows the less detail, the better the results! Get to grips with painting people in 2008!

  1. Scary people Review by Susan Worden
    Rating

I would have liked to see how the artist actually drew the figures she was going to paint. Apart from that it is a very interesting DVD. (Posted on 08/04/2013)

  3. Marilyn Allis is a bit too slap dash an artist for my liking. Review by Patricia Ritchie
    Rating

Her drawings are very good, but her colours are garish and her painting style is fairly sloppy. I was not as impressed as I had hoped to be. However she does tackle the subject with gusto. (Posted on 28/09/2012)
