Now you are ready to paint in your vines. You can either start with a base coat wash of Hooker's green or go straight into painting the vines. If you go straight in, place a small amount of neat Hooker's Green onto your palette. Add a very small amount of Mars black or Paynes Grey just to darken your green slightly. Now fill in your deep shadow areas on your vines with your fine detail round headed watercolour brush.
Allow to dry and then the fun starts. Start experimenting mixing hooker's greens with various amounts of lemon yellow, Titanium white and yellow ochre on you palette and fill in your vines accordingly. A simple mid tone with no yellow tone in it - just simply mix in a little amount of white into your neat Hooker's Green on the palette.
