Hi Kathie. Thank you. Yes, I used soft pastels throughout but did use pastel pencils for some of the definition. I worked on mount board that I treated with 'Golden' acrylic ground for pastels which gives a wonderful 'tooth' for the pastels to hold onto.

I have tried twice to 'love' this portrait as it is so clear and sharply defined - what paper did you use and are they mostly pencils on top of block base colours?
