Mosaic project was commissioned to celebrate the Welldon Park School school centenary year,2011.
Time and money was limited for this project I had to be very resourceful I produced handmade resin tiles using pictures of the school and pupils from 1911 as well as pupils from 2011.
Workshops were held for the pupils to produce images based on the history, location and community of the school, as well as learning about mosaic art.
The smaller coloured tiles were cut to size and shape and used to provide a sense of movement within the mosaic, whilst the schools remains a constant focal point to the community. |
