| I have painted animals in pastel before but decided to try acrylic for this portrait of Benji, our 15yr old cat in his favourite spot. I thought it might be harder than pastels to achieve the effect of fur and was pleased that it wasn't. I worked from a photo I had taken of him on the arm of the chair. He was never allowed to sit on the chair but we eventually gave in and let him sit on the arm which was a compromise! It took me a few sessions to complete but I'm not sure exactly how long it took me. |
