Professional SAA member Robert Newcombe has been selected by the BBC as one of a small group of artists to be filmed painting the Thames Royal Pageant from the Millennium Bridge on 3 June as part of the BBC's coverage on that day.

It is a great honour to have been chosen by the BBC., my congratulations to all.
However, it would have been nice to have seen a few Amature Artists in the mix, as there are many that are just as good if not better suited to the challenge.
I do not count myself in that statement, as it is a subject that maybe beyond my abilities.
BUT, it would have been nice for a few Amatures to have been chosen.
The title " Proffessional Artist" doesn't always mean that a persons work is of a high standard!

Thank you for your interest Terence, I hope you will be watching! The BBC have chosen a whole range of artists for this event, and different styles and mediums of work. The artists are aged from 19 to 70, and includes students, amateur artists, semi-professional and professional. I'm sure you will see a good variety of work there!

I hope so, and I will be watching, because I firmly beleive art should be for all.
