I am considering joining saa, my name is Lizzie I have just started painting in watercolours, as i've just had a total knee replacement, so im a complete novice and an early OAP, so far I have painted a couple of daffodils, and a thistle, but im mad on poppies.

My friend started me off as she does watercolour but, mostly oil painting in the style of bob ross, cant think of going there yet.

I wondered if there is anyone in the cambs/suffolk area to perhaps start a local group, hints and tips

Hello Elizabeth,i joined saa a few years ago its very good for art supplies and you get points on what you buy. I go to a Botantical painting class in the north east, we have painted daffodils not a easy subject getting the colours right but enjoyed it. I used to paint in oils when i took painting back up again but moved on to watercolour easier to transport for classes, if you would like to chat about what your painting i would love to hear from you, you can e-mail me on annesart123@aol.com. happy painting Anne.

Hi
I have been a member of SAA for 2 years now and have found it invaluable. I am from the north east and find it difficult to meet others interested in art, all seems to be going on elsewhere. I would love to get in touch with others, find out about classes and workshop. I am interested in painting flowers, nature and recently figurative sketches and would love to hear from anyone in my area and elsewhere .
Christine

Hello I'm Joyce D. have been painting off and on for the past 50 odd years but you wouldn't tell looking at my paintings Lol.
I'm from Ryhope Sunderland, I've been to a couple of classes but have found that most people just do their own thing.
Would like a class where someone sets you a subject to have a go at. Anybody know of one?
I've been with Saa for a couple of years and enjoy browsing the shop, spending, and also watching the demonstrations.
Izzie I hope you are running around by now, those new knees are great according to a friend of mine.
I'm an OAP and could do with a new hip but have not been offered one yet.
