Hi I'm looking for paint pals in the Heywood , lancashire area. I don't drive and local transport is not easy. But I do have my own studio and a nice painting environment. I would really appreciate some artistic company. Feeling quite isolated, void of any contacts who paint in the area. I have been learning to paint for the past 5 years in most media and happy to paint with all media and levels of experience. Gilli

Hello Gilli!
Have a look at the list of Artists in the Tuition tab. Janice O'Grady is around Rochdale / Oldham which may not be too far from you. I'm at Golborne, on the north side of Warrington.
Good luck and best wishes!

Hi Steve

Thanks for your response , I did see Janice's profile and Hugh Templeton's. Sadly Janice is a little far away, via public transport for me. Initially I was a bit reluctant to approach busy professionals. But in retrospect , it may be worth contacting them about any of their local students who would like some artistic company. I'm an amateur photographer too and often go hunting locally for artistic source images. That may also appeal to other artists.

Thanks Steve!

Gilli

Hi,

I live on the Heywood side of Bury, I have been painting for a number of years and I go out sketching whenever I can. Like yourself I rely on public transport I can get to Heywood as my girlfriend lived there before we moved to Bury. I would be glad to become a paintpal.

Regards Paul

Hello Paul

Thanks for your post.

I have found a painting group in Heywood, thanks to Rick at Cartwheel Arts, a charity in Heywood, http://www.cartwheelarts.org.uk/
and Jo O'Grady an SAA member.

The Heywood Art Group meets on Tuesday afternoons 1.00 - 3.00 at the Holistic Pathways Healing Centre opposite LIDL (the old Sally Army Building) on Bridge street. There is no tutor, but it's a supportive environment. Sessions cost £2 towards room hire etc. I attended for the time last week and thoroughly enjoyed the very welcoming group. I will be going again this Tuesday.

I am delighted you would like to be a paint pal. Feel free to email me at gilliflower1@btinternet.com to chat further.

Regards Gilli
