Part of the art I do requires fitting canvas boards into frames and I find sometimes even though a board and a frame may be the same size according to their labeling, the canvas board does not fit, is there a tool, similar to a paper cutter, I can get to cut canvas board?

Hi Sheila, I've just registered as a pro artist and have picked up this issue. The only way to cut canvas board is with a very sharp Stanley knife and steel straight edge. Athough the manufacturer state certain sizes there is always a tolerance on this. The only way to be sure that your work fits a frame is to check the blank anvas and off the shelf frame first or get bespoke frames made to suit the work.
