Are there any decent books on how to paint pastel animals?
Although I would love Animals that Touch the Heart, there is no way I could possibly afford a book that costs between £200.00 new and £70.00 used.

Thank you
Eve

I have recently googled Animals That Touch the Heart, What I don't understand is why after searching Amazon and other sites the book is or was being offered for sale £200.00 and also £67.00. So why do I get one from W H SMITH price £12.59. I have to wait a short while until the book is in stock. A couple of weeks at the most. Does anyone know the difference as far as I can gather they all had the same amount of pages.

A very puzzled Eve

Google Vivien Walters. She is a pastel animal artist who does e-courses by email and by post as well as courses at her home. She has been featured in the Paint Magazine for several issues and her work is beautiful. I've done one of her courses and the results were fantastic.

Eve

Hi Marie, Anne, and Diana

I ordered the Animals that touch the Heart but I have to waite a while; for it was in The States I think I should get it in December some time.
I had also ordered Vivien Walters Tabby Cat, and am on the 4th and last of the email instructions. I had never seen velour paper but I think I will get quite used to it and the tabby is looking good. I actually daren't touch it for a few weeks and finaly plucked up a bit of courage and began but I am really pleased that I did. My next one from Vivien I think is going to be the pony but that has to wait until after Christmas.

Hello Eve,I too have just managed to order the same book, from america, and it was a fraction of the cost from the uk,including the postage!,apparently I wont get mine until aug/sep,and I am so looking forward to getting it earlier if I am lucky.how long did yours' take to arrive in the end?.
I have also nearly fnished an e.mail coarse of the collie dog with V Walters.
It is the first one I have done,I loved the effect of softness the velour gives, once I had picked up the courage to draw on it!.
How did you find the tabby cat to do?.
Another really good book that is helping me is 'CATS AND DOGS',it is very handy, though the mediums used are watecolour/oil and acrylicIfound it easy to follow uing soft pastels and pastel pencils for finer work.
regards Karen.
