I am still at a loss as to just how much of an angle I should have my paper at when painting in watercolour. Is this just a matter of personal choice? I have just bought a table top easel which appears to me to have too acute an angle.

June Crawshaw replies: I have my board 7-10 cms (3-4in) higher at the top than the bottom. This allows the paint/water to run and mix happily. If you are painting very freely with a loose, wet style, have it higher. It will really depend on your painting style so do try different angles.
