Kim it would be wonderful if we could put the programmes onto Freeview, but it is far too expensive at present, they are free to viewers but not to programme makers. They are now shown again on Tuesday evenings and on Sundays and all the programmes are available as DVDs which can be found by clicking on the programme title in the schedule on www.paintingdrawingchannel.com/ hope this helps happy painting John

The programmes I have seen have been really good, but like many others I too am at work during most of the hours that they run. Also I subscribe to Virgin media who do bot show this channel and agree Freeview would be ideal but adding it to Virgin would also help many. The only other suggestion would be to add a programm content list to a web site such as the SAA so that you could check it the up comming programm is of interest to you and allow you to make plans to view it.

On a purely selfish note, could there be more of Jackie Simmonds demonstrating soft pastels please? It would be nice to have some "masterclass" style programmes. Ian

I can't find a trace of the programmes on Sky 181, only on 167. If you've got Sky Plus, although the 'Series Link' facility is not available, you can achieve the same effect if you select 'Services'/Manual Recordings. Also, I would suggest recording each programme separately rather than in the 'omnibus format'. This will allow you to delete/save to DVD or VCR only those programmes of your choice, rather than in groups of three. Another thing - is it not possible to include a programme summary in the 'Information' banner of the Sky+ programme guide? This will help when searching for programmes to view/record, and saved programmes to view again.

Hi, I'm new to all this forum lark, but have just located the Artists Channel on my sky station, ...brilliant although the programs are really not long enough. They are so informative. The only question I have is why do they repeat the same show on consecutive days? The one today (14/03/08) showed a lady painting a fluffy toy dog at the end and this was the same as yesterdays...am I going la la? or do they seem to repeat quite often? Regards, Tracey

Could we have some more programmes on drawing and other dry media? It seems to me that 90% of the programmes are to do with water colour painting. I know you will say that this is the most popular 'topic' but there are many many artists using dry media out there,ie coloured pencils, pastels, graphite. It is, after all, the painting AND drawing channel, thanks.

We are currently showing a 7 part series on Wildlife in Pastel, and next month we're also showing programmes on Charcoal Portraits, Gardens in Pastel and Derwent Coloursoft 'sticks'. We do try to cover as many mediums as possible.

I don't have Sky either but we do have Virgin Media whom we contacted about this new "Painting Channel" to ask if they would consider broadcasting this - they said that they didn't have any plans in the near future. It would be nice if others broadcast these programmes as well as Sky. Anita
