How does one care for and clean oil painting brushes when working in very hot climates? My brushes seem to dry out and even when I've soaked them in turpentine and washed them in soap and water, after a week or so they are still very stiff to use.

E John Robinson replies: After cleaning your brushes, keep them wrapped in a cloth soaked with linseed oil until you use them again.
