I have been using Atelier acrylics for some time.. I mix them with ancient (circa 1970) tubes of Cryla quite satisfactorily, and with W&E acrylics. I see now when I need to order some replacements, that Atelier are offering their paint in pots, and I wondered what the advantage of pots over tubes might be...Can anyone enlighten me please?

Hi Minnie! If the terminology is the same for W&N, then "Pots" will be larger (Polythene or Plastic) containers. W&N supply pots of their Acrilics in 250ml and 500ml, so I would envisage the same, but talk to them and ask the question.

Good luck and very best wishes,

Hi Steve and thank you for your reply. Atelier do 'jars' (much cheaper than tubes) and apart from the economy I wondered what the practical advantage might be over using tubes....I'm assuming you could take the pigment straight from the jar to mix on your palette...would this keep your colours cleaner I wonder?

Hi Minnie! I use W&N Acrylics in Pots as they're more convenient (and overall cheaper) and as I store the pots upside down, the paint is always at the nozzle, to be squeezed out. So I expect that the Pots may be simply larger (more cost effective) than the jars, but as I havn't used Atelier yet, I can't speak from experience.

Good luck and very best wishes,
