Hi - until this week, we've had the P&D channel as a FTA channel available on our Freesat box. It is now being displayed as scrambled.

I can't find anything about it on the internet - anyone have any clues? (stopped transmitting, gone back to Sky, needs a retune etc etc?)

Hi There,

I think the best advice we can give you here at the SAA is retuning your box and the worst case senario is that the dish on the outside of your house may have moved due to the strong winds we have had lately. The channel should still be showing properly and we haven't made any changes this end so i think it may be to do with your signal.

Happy Painting!
Ashley (SAA)

Thanks for replying Ashley.

Would that the solution were as simple (not that legging up a ladder to tweak a dish is simple). Retuning was the first thing I tried.

However, the Propellor channel is also scrambled on a friends equipment in a different district, from the same date.

I emailed propellortv.co.uk, who responded thus "We have recently changed our transponder details and should still be available on Freesat channel 5147. " I'm not sure they fully understand the details - Propellor was not available on Freesat, only the "non-Freesat" channels on our Humax receiver, and is still listed as channel 5304, but is "scrambled or unavailable". Channel 5147 is an Asian channel Imagine Dil Se.

I could try a manual tune on a particular transponder, so I have asked Propellor tv for their updated transponder details, but I am still waiting to hear from them.

I know I could watch on TV Anytime, but this would gobble up our 2Gb monthly allowance.

Watch this space.

Aha! Here is the solution that worked for me on my Humax receiver.

Menu button, Settings icon, set STB Mode to non-freesat.

SetUp icon, Manual Tune, set parameters as follows:
Transponder - All
Network Search - Enable
Scrambled Type - All
Channel Type - TV
Do a search - takes ages - save settings.

Now I have unscrambled Propeller on non-freesat channel 5609.

My thanks to anyone who took the time to ponder this problem, and to Ashley for his suggestions.

If it's any help at all, Propeller has moved from 195 to 189 on Sky so no doubt this will affect Freeview and other receivers.

Thanks for your input Splasha. I did wonder whether we would be affected on Freesat when I saw the notice, but the P&D programme remains on Propeller channel in non-Freesat mode on our receiver (see my solution above).

I too had to retune my Goodman's Freesat box earlier this year. I found that the Propeller channel had changed its Free-To-Air properties to the following:

Frequency = 11347
Symbol Rate = 27500
LMS Polarisation = Vertical

I hope this helps if anyone is still searching for the revised Propeller location.
