Hi John, the format looks great, just a couple of things that spring to mind. Firstly, when I try to log-in having ticked the "remember me" box, the system doesn't remember me, which means I have to re-enter all the details each time. Secondly, the previous posts seem to be all mixed up, which makes it quite hard to read any new posts. Good luck, hope you have great success with the new site, and the forum is as useful and well used as before. Helz

It looks much better - far more attractive. I'll spend more time looking around over the weekend. One question though - is it a deliberate decision not to give artist's website details on the professional members' pages? Or is this just an oversight? For instance on the tuition part of my page I had 'for more information please see my website'.....but now the link has vanished I've had to add the address in the text.

I have already put this message on the "General Materials" section of the forum because that's where I noticed the problems to be the worst. You have kept in a lot of the original queries in the Forum but not all the answers so that the whole thing doesn't make sense. For instance we have a person asking a really good question about some type of paint and then, at the next posting saying "Thank you for all the helpful advice", but there is nothing in-between so no-one has any idea what the advice was! Very frustrating! Also the wrong names are often attributed to the postings so that some people appear to be having a long argument with themselves. I really think that it would have been better to have started again from scratch with a clean sheet. We would have lost a lot of good advice like that but then we have anyway! Half the stuff which is left no longer makes any sense.

I'm afraid Margaret is right. The dates are all over the place and a new topic I added to the UK Art Course section is at the bottom of the page. It is usual for new topics and posts to appear at the top of a forum! It might indeed be best to give up and start again from scratch. Oh and also I'm afraid the 'notify' function isn't working: I only found out Margaret had posted here when I came back to the forum to have a look. :( Sorry to be sounding negative. A useful and well functioning forum would be invaluable so here's hoping that can be achieved.

hello everyone. well i must say that it looks so much better. however my moans are just little ones. when i buy somting like a book or dvd i like to have an idea of what i am buying via the extra details that you had before; but now they no longer exist. so i think that you should have more pictures as before. so that you can know that the product you are buying is worth it. also with amazon, you can can leave a review of the book or dvd ect that you have bought. i think this would be very handy, as i get asked many questions. i have watched nearly all of the dvd's we have, and have a become a critic or adviser to those that wish to find the best dvd or book for themselves (so if you need a hand with a personal review from a member; well email. i would only be to happy to help!) other than that i think that the site is top form. And that you have all done well. with every knew thing, there will always be hiccups, mistakes to over ride. You are all doing your best to rectify the issues which is great. so in response to the other messages. i would say hang in there, and i'm sure you can bring up the similar questions that you have seen before by bettering them; at least you can be more specfic about them.( so you'll have a hand in making the site more informative with your knowledge of the previous forum). ;o) thanks to the saa team, for great help, design and patience in the up and running of this site. many thanks from here in the midlands.

The new site has a better look about it but when I tried to find myself as aproffessional associate it did not seem to work, even typing in my own name brought up a nil result. I tried just east Yorkshire and found the only connection was the community art course, so this aspect of finding a PA seems flawed. Early days though. The forums section was difficult to sort through and Margaret and others have said all that needs for the moment.

We have made some changes to the new web site that we hope will make things easier. There is no need to register until after you have chosen products or want to say something in the forum. Please let us know if you are having any problems. happy painting John

Hi John, it's certainly easier to use the forum now that the most recent posts and replies are at the top!! I also have a query: when ordering materials online, how to we "cash in" our SAA vouchers?
