Suggestion - add area or county if you want paint pals. No point in putting non specific titles like paint pals....because that is the NAME of this section. You wouldn't be posting here if you weren't interested.
Also asking in Paint Pals when you are really after more folk to join your tuition class...is also misleading...why not advertise in the Tuition section?
I would like to see..or have it pointed out, a search facility...so if you did want a paint pal... to identify key words such as your county or town within the body of the post, as there look to be many without that in their title here already.

Having said all that, I think it's a good idea to have this section, as there are artists who are not able to attend classes/societies, who would benefit from finding a nearby paint pal!

Hi Deirdre,

Thank you for your suggestions and I am not sure if you are aware of our Members Near Me facility. This allows you to find and directly contact members via the secure SAA website but the best part is down to the exact postcode search. This means you can contact the fifteen nearest members within your area.

If you wish to have a look at this service please go to the Members Near Me tab at the top of the page.

Happy Painting!

Ashley (SAA)

Thank you Ashley, Yes I have seen the Members Near me Facility...and thought it was useful if you wanted to know who was an SAA member near you. However, it does not answer the dilemma of knowing the area a member was from by the title of their post :)
The reason I looked at this section of the forum was simple curiosity to see if there were many in my county. Unfortunately, I would have to open too many posts - which all takes time....

I assume now there is no Forum Search facility as you did not mention one?
Thank you for replying to my post.

Hi There,

Unfortunately there is no way of searching for counties or areas within the forum because it is a place where people can place as much or as little information as they please. Hopefully people will read your forum posting and place their area a little bit clearer but Members Near Me is the only accurate way of contacting people around you.

Happy Painting!

Ashley, You're right...you do no have a search engine within Paint Pals...however, now I've had time to look around, I found one in the main menu....unfortunately I can't find a way of inserting the screen picture I took of it. But hopefully I can show the results...
