Hello my name is Ruth Ive just joined SAA Ive been painting drawing as long as I can remember had a few sales and exhibitions in the past. I am currently bringing up two little boys that like to take up all my free time does anyone else try and paint between toddler tantrums if so what are your top tips for a happy balance?

Hi Ruth. My name is Jean and I am a new member of the SAA. I also have two kids, a toddler and a teenager. I paint when little one is in nursery. Would you be able to put your kids in nursery one or two afternoons a week? If that isn't possible then perhaps you could do what my friend and myself do twice a week- where we babysit each other's kids while the other person is in gym/grocery/etc. We do this every monday and wednesday mornings and each have one and a half hours each (more or less!) to do their own thing. If you have a friend with a toddler who is also desperate for some time during the week, this could be the perfect solution for you!
