Hi Andy, Another Andy here too....Well it looks like a year has passed and you've had no replies so i thought i'd post as i am on Carsic so not that far away and also enjoy watercolours and landscape painting. I have a lot of (Non) painting time then have a couple of months where i have a go only to put it all away again. Who inspires and who do you admire in the art world?Myself i enjoyed through the 90's James Fletcher-watson, Sadly passed away now, and due to their TV shows Ashley Jackson and Alwyn Crawshaw. The 00's i took interest in Charles Evans' work and for now i think Terry Harrison and Jeff Kerseys' work has become popular due i think to this site and the TV series and shorts they produce. I think Keith Fenwick is a fantastic watercolourist also but his style is more Bodycolour than pure watercolour ( he uses alot of opaque white to work dark to light as in oil or acrylic work ),Each to their own and it works for him and he is very successful 38+ years as a teacher i believe... but as you can see i enjoy many "Modern Day" artists and their works and only wish i could produce a 10th of there craftmanship in the watercolour medium. As a finish i will add some details about myself, i am 43 yrs young on the 7th of July and currently a house husband. My wife works and i see to the children aged 10, 3 and 7.I am a painter and decorator by trade but arthritus has slowed me down now. Good luck with your painting, enjoy what you do. Regards Andy P.s... as an after thought 2 more talented artists who may inspire you,( i follow them both on facebook ),Jeremy Ford and Matthew Palmer. The latter being only a couple of miles away in Langwith. Both these artists again appear regularly on the painting and drawing channel with their own programs both with a different painting style.Matthew often holds free taster lessons and demonstrations down on the designer outlet village near you at junction 28 of the M1.
