Hi Jennifer,I'm Pauline and live in Cotgrave, Nottingham. I have been painting for sometime now but still consider myself very much an amateur. I mostly work in watercolour and have just joined a new art group, where we had a demonstration in acrylics this morning - very different to what I'm used to but nevertheless enjoyable.

Although we do not live that close, I would be more than happy to help in anyway I can, although I stress I'm no expert.

Regards Pauline

Hi Pauline,
Thank you very much for your reply,I did join a group but found after awhile it was very clicky and also you were more or less left on your own and only got a small amount of advice ....

Would be good if I had someone with me now and again to help with my painting and to also keep me interested as I loose confidence in myself, even though my Husband trys to give me encouragement he does not understand that I cannot just paint all the time I have to be in the right frame of mind.....Once again Thank you .....Jen

Hi Jennifer

Dont worry about it too much, we all feel the same way. Someimes it is hard to motivate yourself. Try to get onto a few courses if you can, they will help tremendously. I dont think I have picked up a paint brush for ages. If you can take a trip to the library, you can get a large amount of art instruction books from there. If you can find it get the How to Paint Colour and Light in watercolour by Jean Haines - fabulous. She also does a DVD and the book and DVD can be purchased through the SAA.

Good luck and keep intouch.

Pauine
