My name is Sue and I live in Angus and would like to find some paint pals to share my hobby with. I've been painting with watercolour for a couple of years with particular interest in flowers. I'm very much a 'beginner' so if you would like to get in touch that would be great.

Hi Sue, My name is Margaret,I live in Gourock, Inverclyde. I have been dabbling in art as a hobby for a few years. I used to use pastels, but unfortunately, when moving house a few years ago all of my art things got mislaid. I am now trying watercolour, with an interest in landscapes. I feel I am absolutely hopeless. I got a large watercolour set for my birthday this year, and feel looking at all the different colours a bit daunting. I enjoy taking it out now and again and playing about mixing the paints, but would definately like to be able to do a whole landscape picture. I am thinkng about looking for art classess to try and give me the basics to get started, but have not found anything yet. It would be great to hear from you.

Hi Sue and Margaret, I also live in Scotland in Aberdeenshire and would like to paint in watercolour.
I have tried to find a class for wc but only found a general art class. I joined this and love it . I really look forward to my evening with other like minded people. We all do our own thing as far as the medium goes but the tutor sets a challenge every other week which we generally have a go at. I have discovered a love of soft pastels there and also discovered things I don't much like, but seeing others using other mediums I will now give them a try.
At present I am trying to work out how to do animal portraits with my lovely new water colours, I got some white knight paints for my birthday and they are lovely! They are strong ,intense creamy colour. I'm trying to paint horse today with not much success. I would love tobe able to meet up with another artist who is trying to find their way with w/c.plea se let us know how you are getting on.
Happy painting.........Jane

I realise that you posted your topic a few years ago now and that your information may not be currant, but if you still live in angus, still paint and still want to meet up with someone who is a beginner, please let me know.
