Our first ever E-Exhibition, Architectural Sketches by Jovita (10th-30th of September, 2011)

Architectural Sketches by Jovita S. (Decor-Art Team) sometimes might look like a tangle of lines, yet they artfully reveal streets and buildings that have caught the artist’s eye while traveling around the world. Archways in the old town of Vilnius, historic buildings in Philadelphia and narrow English streets come to life with the skillfully added colour.

Architectural background (BA and MA in Architecture) helps Jovita to capture the slightest details – unusual windows, tilted chimeys or interesting brickwork, yet her artistic self can’t leave out the natural light or shadows, portraying what it would really feel to end up in one of these towns.

No doubt pretty streets and buildings are quite a common subject for artistic inspiration, but not every painter manages to restrain from a certain “sweetness” and to make their art work so vivid that you can almost see how quickly must have moved the artist’s hand while drawing. Also sketches might not be intended to come out as a finished work, yet Jovita’s drawings deserve to be framed!
