In this day and age I am amazed that somebody can be threatened with a fine or arrest for displaying a piece of art that local people say they love!!

But that is the case with the JohnnyCotter gallery (http://www.johnnycotter.com/) in Folkestone - who have dared to display a full size painting of a well known footballer on a crucifix.

Art is meant to provoke thought - isn't it?

Well that is exactly what this particular piece of artwork does - and yet the Police in their infinite wisdom have instructed Johnny Cotter to remove the art from the front of his gallery - even though local people pop in daily to say they love it.

Will they try to close down the Fringe Event too - because it may offend one or two people...?

There is too much political correctness which is what this is, if people want to play goody goody they should think before they act ie; put their brain into gear before they put their mouth into motion. Art is what it is. Would they ban the Bible because so many people think it wrong or the Koran, no so let Art be what it is a form of expression.
