Hi Wendy,
We can only apologise here at the SAA for the inconvenience but unfortunately on this occassion it was out of our hands.
We had secured, paid for and had a contract in place for the venue and began promoting it to our members. After weeks of struggling and lack of communication we were finally told by Peterborough showground that they had decided to give the venue to another company and that they weren't willing to negotiate with the SAA.
We were far from happy about this too, as i am sure you can imagine and it was exceptionally unprofessional of the showground to pull the rug from underneath our feet (after we had began promoting it) but as hard as we tried to keep it, they had made their minds up.
For 2012 we made the decision to move It's All About Art out of London due to the Olympics and decided to do the roadshow for a year and Peterborough were obviously quite aware they may not be getting repeat business from us. We still do not know the other company that Peterborough decided to give the venue to as they do not appear to be advertising it on their website (yet).
We really hope our members are not too discouraged by this and i can assure you we did everything we could, but we were really let down. There is no definate decision regarding the event for 2012 but i think we all agree the BDC in London is respectful of our event and our members.
Once again i can only apologise on behalf of the SAA for the inconvenience and we do hope to see you at a future It's All About Art.
Happy Painting Ashley (SAA)
