Dear John, Thank you for your assistance .I am a complete beginner at the ripe old age of 67yrs ,and need all the help I can get .I have been enjoying myself dabbling with my paint box but my colours all seem too harsh so I think some expert help is needed, and as i'm disabled it's not easy to get to art classes. When I saw Geoff's dvd's they seemed like the answer to a maiden's prayer. I really enjoy watching all the artist's on tv,as they all make it look so easy- - - "ONE OF THESE DAYS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" yours Veronica

Hi Veronica, I did go to art college, but only to take cartooning and buildinga, just two doors away was the watercolour classes, if only I had gone through the wrong door, anyway I am disabled ( damaged my lower spine when I fell three floors in a hotel fire in paddington london, I was a fireman then) and like you I am also a beginner, what I am doing is starting with the sky and and trying to perfect a copy of my own using others attempts (jeremy ford does a very good one in his dales painting) then I will go on to thatch and roof tiles etc followed by walls and brickwork, and so on...I do this on practice paper, anyway at 81 I think I mam beginging to see some daylight, keep it up, it can only get better.

Hi Charles, thanks for your good wishes ,it's nice to know there are other struggling artists out there. I agree with you about Jeremy Ford's rustic series,i love his thatched cottage i've been promising myself that i'll give it a try one of these days but it looks so difficult.[but the world loves a trier as they say] I was asked to do a review on Jeff Kerseys "As if by magic dvd's" I purchased at the beginning of the year ,I submitted it so my name may yet be up there in lights in the "PAINT " magazine.Sorry to hear about your disability,I also have back problems [spine wear and tear]and took up painting to give me something to do on the not so energetic days.
Do you do cartooning just for pleasure or do you submit your paintings to magazines ect.? AnyWAY Charles as usual i've rabbitted on when i really just wanted to say THANKS for saying hello and "ALL THE VERY BEST FOR THE FUTURE !!!!!!!!!!! Happy painting

Hi again Charles,
I realised late last night that I had made a mistake and said it was Jeremy Ford who did "THE RUSTIC SERIES" it was of course Terry Harrison but i think both artists are fascinating to watch. I love all the artists who appear on the painting and drawing channel they all have different technics dont they? I meant to tell you we used to live in Walterton Rd [just off the Harrow Rd ]in London before we moved to north wales 17yrs ago
all the best
veronica

Hi Veronica, I am the Leader & Tutor of an Arts Group and G.K. has become quite a friend. He allows me to browse his gallery, knowing that I won't be buying paintings but checking out his technique. I have most of his DVD's. I also have his books (Signed of course), and find his methods extremely useful in teaching beginners and improvers. You can't go far wrong in copying his work to begin with and I hope that you will eventually develop your own style. Good Luck & Happy Painting.
P.S. You can, of course, place orders on the freephone No. 0800 980 1123 (Request a Catalogue too).
