Hi, I become a member about 2 years ago and must say that the amount of materials you can get from just one site is great! It also has the benefit of getting it all at a cheaper price than the high street but sadly i wasnt happy with the delivery.My trouble was SAA sent my order via Reality delivery who dont allow you to pick up your order personaly.I missed my delivery because i work long hours and cannot be waiting at home.I then after many phone calls to different departments got another delivery date but had to have a day off work to collect it! I then e-mailed SAA and told them my problem and asked if they could use Royal mail as they have in the past because i can pick my parcel up personaly. They just answered with why dont you use your next door neighbour. No sorry No thankyou! My order was

Hello Scott this obviously is not the best way to help customers. It is difficult for delivery drivers to always find people in and we have contracts with delivery companies taht allow us to keep costs low enought to give free delivery to members. Our staff were trying to give you some alternatives without increasing the price. However you should have been offered alternatives where you could choose to pay a bit more for a better service. However as I do not know who you are i cant discuss this with you. We do care and try very hard to provide a first class service, but, being human we sometimes get it wrong. I also have problems with delivery services who deliver when I'm at work. Many of them won't deliver on a Saturday so I can't even arrange redelivery for Saturday. As for leaving them with neighbors - some of my neighbors are OK but some are definitley a big'NO'. If I arrange a day off they can't tell me approx when the item might arrive so I have to waste a whole days holiday staying in. Sharon

Sharon, Your problem is a very common one for all who work away from home. A nearby friend or shop can help, and Saturday deliveries can be arranged, however they are expensive and are more than most people want to pay. We offer free weekday delivery to SAA members on the UK mainland and discounted elsewhere. We can offer other services to members, but not to all of the UK mainland. Next day service

I am very concerned about delivery of my order since reading the other comments. Surely you could find a firm that allows collection of parcels from somewhere. I have never known a delivery company that does not do that. Most people work long hours and cannot afford time off just to receive a parcel. I am self employed and definitely cannot be at home just for a delivery, especially if it is all day.

Hello Sally, yes you can arrange to collect from the delivery company, but for many this may be quite a way off. It depends on the size and weight of the parcel as to which carrier is used, but we are always happy to receive special instructions for delivery, but you will appreciate it is only by having contracts with carriers that we can offer free delivery to members and we may have to pass on any extra charges. If you have any suggestions we are always pleased to get help in solving this problem. hope this helps john

*************************UPDATE*************************************** I have recently orded again and it took 6-7 days for me to recieve my goods wich is not super fast but they arrived no probs this time, i put a note on my internet order to deliver to a certain neighbour if i was'nt in and it was done exactly as i asked..Just thought readers of my post should Know.

I have never had any problem with my orders or deliveries. Last week I ordered on Thursday afternoon and I received the goods Saturday morning. Cannot have any better !

Just to echo Beatrice's post - I placed a very large order on Tuesday by telephone and it arrived 48 hours later. It would be hard to improve on that.

I have just received my first order from SAA and the service was great. Ordered Saturday received Tuesday.
