I think you would find retirees and part time workers more satisfying to teach.I run 5 art classes at my studio in New Lanark - 3 weekday & 2 evening classes. My daytime students are mainly retirees or part time/shift workers. Evening classes are full time workers and high school students. They range from beginners to experienced artists and attend for a variety of reasons - some are lonely, some want to try a new hobby and others are really keen to learn to paint and sell their work. All enjoy the friendly atmosphere of small classes (max 10). I don't earn as much as I did when teaching in mainstream schools but, as they are paying for lessons, I know all my students want to be there and this gives me great pleasure.I also enjoy designing my own courses and not being bound by the latest nutty ideas from the education authority !
